FIRST outdoor walk in Ballet Heels

Heelo there

Yes.  I found the footage.  :-(  Poor quality.  Sorry about that.  The original film is long gone in a computer crash I am sure. But a blast from the past, that is for sure :-)

Here’s a version for my German friends who have missed out due to some copyright laws over the soundtrack of the above video.

My actual first walk was filmed in my room and is too dark to do anything with.   I made this video about 4 days after I got the boots.   They are a size 39 which is too big by far, but I stuffed up the toes and went for it anyway.  Next pair I got were 38′s and I’ve decreased in size to now a standard 35 as my feet gained flexibility from wearing this type of footwear.

These boots are now long gone.  :-)   They were really nice, due to them being leather upper.

I’m currently working on some tutorial videos for the BALLET HEELS tutorial space.  I realise I need to record some new videos and place them here because for some reason, they end up being flagged.  Sad, because many people look at the tutorial and can’t access the videos.  I will sort that out over the next few weeks.

Have fun

Suzan :-)

  1. Hi Suzan.

First off let me tell you that I’m going to type and then copy/paste as a post because I want to get it right. Therefore it might take me a few tries… but here goes -

Of course, I want to be able to relate to everybody; so I’ll give a very brief background of myself.

I became fascinated with high heels when I was a teenager. Wearing and walking in them came naturally to me. It was simply a matter of posture and balance. Nothing more.

Only recently have I become interested in EXTREME high heels. I saw them, was floored, and noticed most all the models were sitting on a chair or laying upon something for the photo shoot.

I said to myself “bull-shit”. I can put on a pair of those and walk right away.

    I was absolutely wrong.

There is a whole different learning element that only real ballet dancers can understand. It is not just about balance and posture; but there needs to be a training of the nervous system to truly adapt. Really.

I think those dancers who started out young grasped this without even realizing it.

So, my advice for people like me is to take it slow because it does become natural with time.

This brings me full circle to what I would like to ask of you Suzan…

Your web site http://ballet-heel.net/ is absolutely fabulous!

Is it possible that you might be encouraged to make some more tutorial video(s) that are at the most basic level that would include some of your experience with dance in order to help others (like me) fully understand what it is all about to wear and walk with ease in Ballet Heels?

(wow, that was a long question)

Your exercise / toner video is the best I’ve ever seen, by the way. Just sayin’.

    Best,
    Heather
