Hello hello
Was outdoors today tripping around in my special ballet boots and decided to make a video for my public channel as well.
You’ll notice for sure the broken Devious heels as I am walking in them…
I did say that the devious heels were lacking quality. While out shopping the other day we managed to usurp the mall security and got a bit of filming done.
Here are the images of today’s filming, sans the special ballets, of course!!!!

The broken heels bought something from years ago to my mind. My brother is a shoe repairer and one day a woman bought in a pair of stiletto heels that the heel had come off of. She tols my brother that they were almost new and took them back to the shop they were purchased from but they did not want to know. It seems she was told “You didn’t actually try and walk somewhere in them did you?” When she peplied ‘Of course” the saleswoman made a comment along the lines of “these shoes are only meant to be worn when a few paces are required. They are basically for show”.
Hello Nye North,
Thank you for your insight.
This has happened to me so many times I actually never really hold out hope for a wearable heel, until I’ve worn it – too many shoes with broken heels; too much money spent. It’s ridiculous that shoes aren’t made to be worn! If they are only supposed to be looked at, then they either should be sold as art, made from quality materials and hermetically sealed in a display box, or for what they are worth – $15.00 with free postage.
Maybe I should add to my last message that my brother fixed the heels in a few minutes. Told me he lifted the ‘insole’ (from his description they were strappy sandals) and found the top of the heel to be hollow. He got some expoxy resin of some kind and filled the space. When it had set he simply used put a couple of short screws into the resin and stuck the insole back down. Never heard if it worked though.
Hi
Sounds perfect to me. As a repairer he’d be more than aware of what kind of resin to use. I think screws are really underused items in shoe/heel joining, and sadly when they are, they are normally a cheap compound metal that is too short, or shatters on impact.
Thanks again, feel free to add your thoughts again.
I know this is an old post but yesterday the heel of my ballet boots broke. I’m not sure how to repair them. I’m also not sure if I can just take them to just any shoe repair place to get them repaired. I don’t mind trying to find out howto fix them myself i just don’t know where to look for howtofix instructions.
Where did the heel break? At the join of the upper or in the middle of the heel?
You won’t find how to fix instructions. But I can tell you how if you are interested. I would need to see some images of the break.
But they can be fixed, everything pretty much can be fixed.
The heel broke were the heels attach to the boot. Pretty much how they broke in your video. They are Devious boots so I guess I should have expected them to break. Not sure that I can send pictures to you through your blog system.
That’s not hard to fix at all, but you will need to do some preparation work to the shoe to get it ready to re-affix the heel so that it won’t come away like that again. You might like to do the other heel while you’re at it.
I will do a quick tutorial and post it within the next couple of days, okay?
Awesome thank you so much for your help. I will keep my eyes open for your tutorial.
