Hello hello
I know I’ve seen worse, but these are fairly horrendous as things go.
They were purchased for a project so here are the before photos.
Redeeming qualities? The buckles on the black thigh highs perhaps?
They have the most ridiculous tin can platform I’ve seen on a pony heel, ever.
Hopefully with a bit of this and that, I can improve the look of the boots, and offer a tutorial on how to modify their look.
Regards
Suzanne

Where are those from?
They look like regular Pleaser brand boots with the heels/sole removed and those different ones put on.
Hi Wayne
They come out of the same factory as the no name brand ballet heels with the more stable heel that the pleaser/devious brand. I paid about $50 euro a pair. The same platform boots are available through myzentai.com (heel attached) but since that seems to be the supply front end for the factory where most extreme heels are made – I am sure they can supply them to you for a great price.
Hopefully ruby fashions have sorted out their postage issues and Aussie customers won’t have to wait 3 months for sea mail, when they paid for air mail…so, they are available there, but I must advise you to shop at your own risk.
Suzanne.
Hmmmm, Orange Ballets on that site
…. no, no, no – that means I’d have to buy matching latex gear to go with them – slaps wrists!!
I’ll wait and see how you go modifying the boots – always wanted a pair for a shoot I have in mind, but those don’t quite look pony enough, they look like regular boots with missing heels.
I saw those and went…oh yes, I’d like those! I think they offer them in a few other colours, they take a while to get back to you and you might have to send a few emails. A bit trippy at the moment. They’re normally very good. Not sure what’s going on.
Yes. I think they look like shoes with missing heels.
Part one of the mod is already completed. Next is to make a form, then a two part resin and … we shall see what eventuates.
I want to keep them light, but take away that shocking tin can look. I also want to be able to replicate the form – perhaps in pattern form so others can do it too.
I have a few ideas ….
Coolness – looking forward to seeing what eventuates
Sorry to disagree, but I really like the gunmetal grey look. Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder, is it not?
Yes. Isn’t it fabulous that we can all hold such unique opinions. I don’t know what you mean by gunmetal grey – it must be the flash on the camera. These things are jet black…
Thanks for replying and there is no need to apologise for voicing your own opinion….
Saussie, remember I called to your attention the way they trim the hooves of the Hackney Ponies? These boots are a step in that direction, I’m really interested to see what you do with them! Don’t see how they are “pony HEELS” more like “pony TOES” ! All the Best! Have fun!
It would be you that would make that comment – pony toes!!! YES!!! I’m going to start calling them pony toes. Thank Pete!!!

Dear Suzanne,
thanks so much for a wonderful site. the videos are simply amazing.
Just wondered if ever worn a corset and heels with a chinese cheongsam (suzie wong dress)?. The dress is very figure hugging and needs side slits to enable the wearer to walk.
I am a long time admirer of the stiletto heel particularly the style of heel popular in the early 60′s (though i am not sure what that style is called). Definitely one of the benefits of watching Mad Men and old Jerry Lewis comedies!
keep up the great work on the site.
Thanks
Hello Ted
I used to own a vintage cheongsam – it was red and absolutely amazing. One of my uncles brought it back from one of the wars … it no longer exists…
I believe the name you could be seeking is “kitten heel” not so high but the toes of the shoes were usually very long and tapered..
Thanks for reading and having fun here Ted,
Suzanne
Dear Suzanne,
thanks for your reply. Yes. i have heard that term “kitten heels” before. As you say very long pointy toe. The heel reminds me of the bottom half of a wine glass.
Shame you no longer have the cheongsam. I love the 60′s cheongsam. this style is worn in the movie “The world of suzie wong” Definitely a very tight dress.
Cheers
I’ve wanted to make this for a while, but where have you bought those shoes?
It seems my google skills are terrible because I cannot find Ruby fashions?
Please, tell me where are they from?
Hi Feather,
They are at ebay.
