I got a message a couple of weeks ago from a person who had bought a corset upon recommendation from one of the girls who reviews corsets online. The person was asking if I’d write to the girl concerned and “ream her out” for lying about the corsets she’s selling. There was a lot of complimentary crap about me written also; but I figured that was due to this person having high expectations of the outcome of the message. This person also claimed to have made some sort of donation and was angry that they didn’t get the acknowledgement they felt they deserved.
Donations are made without expectation in these circumstances as there is no legally binding contract that says the donated money must be spent in any way. There is no way to stipulate how the funds are spent. When donating to a charity, there is a legal and ethical trail the organisation should follow. When donating to Paypal accounts, your input and power ends with the clicking of the submit button.
So. Not sure if it’s female or male to be honest. The account was only recently created, but the messages indicated that the person had been at you tube for quite some time. That’s why I say it’s a sock puppet account. One that is created to cause trouble and remain unlinked to the person’s real profile.
Whatever it is – I know it’s got a bug up its butt for a certain corset reviewer, that’s for sure. Oh. And me. *giggles*
I had to explain that the girl doesn’t sell corsets – she tells people what she thinks about the corsets she buys; and doesn’t work for any of the sellers as far as I knew. As it stands, the information that is passed on is questionable and the real agenda is not that hidden.
Anyway, I kindly asked why was it my problem; as you do, and why did they think I was going to do anything about it for them. I asked had they contacted the reviewer? From my experience, save that with contour corsets, the adage rings true “You get what you pay for!”
The corsets in the reviews are mass manufactured and labeled at the factory for the store selling them. They are not handmade in factories in the seller’s country of origin. They are cheap facsimiles of the real thing and do not hold up to the stresses of long term tight lacing. The fact that spiral bones are used all the way around the corset, and no spring steel in sight, is why the corsets tend to gape in a circular fashion at the back where the lacing meets and ties. I wouldn’t buy one, and never told this person to buy one, therefore I don’t see why I am in line to solve the problem using the strong arm tactics they expected me to.
A bit of too-ing and fro-ing with messages where I advised them AGAIN to write to the seller and get another corset. Nope. The corset really didn’t seem to be the issue I figured. They wanted blood from the girl who did the review and they wanted me to take it. Makes no sense, right? You’d think they would be more interested in getting a corset that works, than going after a stranger on the internet? This is why I’m not sure if they actually bought a corset and it’s not more about the way the donation was handled. I guess if they treated her like they have been me, it’s well within her rights to cut them off.
There’s been a couple of flagging attempts and a couple of dislikes claimed by this person over the last week or so. Woo hoo…so scared.
Today I log in and find said person is now copy pasting my comments from other videos and replying to new comments under my videos with them. Tricky little shiter. Okay. That’s enough. The line is now drawn.
So, I block the user but not before sending an email threatening to cut off its button eyes and not darn it if it gets a hole. I also told it I know someone with REALLY BIG HANDS!!! (sock, big hand, stretch sock, some double entendre going down there) I also closed off by advising it of the definition of the word spiflicate. I just love old hardly ever used anymore words!!!
(oh, for argument’s sake, let’s take definition one as opposed to the others?)
Thought it was worth a story tell over as I guess some of you got caught up in it.
Is there a moral to this story at all? Yep. Probably, but people are people and we do what we do no matter how much advice we are given.
